Signs You Have a Hidden Water Leak

Damaged water pipes can continue to leak for weeks, months, or even years before the problem becomes apparent. Don’t let this happen! Make sure you are familiar with the signs:

  • Hot spots or sagging in your flooring
  • An unexpected spike in your water bill
  • The constant sound of water running through pipes
  • Mold or musty odors throughout your home

These are just some of the telltale signs that point to a leaking water line. Contact our Denver leak detection experts for professional inspection and diagnosis. We will identify the source of the leak and discuss the best course of action.

Our Water Leak Detection Methods

At Bell Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, & Electrical we use the most accurate and effective leak detection technology, which includes infrared cameras, acoustic leak detectors, and tracer gas.

  • Infrared cameras—These are used to identify water temperature and movement.
  • Acoustic leak detectors—This is an effective complement to infrared cameras. Acoustic detection senses for sounds in your hidden water lines. The leak is found where the sound is loudest.
  • Tracer gas—Sometimes water or sewer lines are buried too deep for infrared or acoustic equipment to work accurately. This is where tracer gas comes in. With this method, we will insert nitrogen and hydrogen into the pipe; wherever the gas escapes is the site of the leak.

Bell Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, & Electrical prioritizes your safety and respects your property. We only carry out non-invasive leak detection services. After the leak is confirmed, we will discuss your options for pipe repair or replacement.
