    Bell played a role in local infrastructure by installing refrigeration lines for the University of Denver Ice Arena, showcasing the company’s expanding technical capabilities beyond residential work.

    As Denver experienced a post-World War II housing boom, Bell expanded its services to include residential remodels and custom cabinetry—helping homeowners modernize and improve their living spaces.

    By 1955, Bell had grown into one of the largest plumbing and heating contractors west of the Mississippi River, proudly serving more than 10,000 active customer accounts.

    While residential service remained a core offering, Bell expanded into commercial construction as demand grew, broadening the company’s expertise and project scope.

    Innovation Meets Public Trust

    Bell donated the first garbage disposal to the Colorado Governor’s Mansion, helping demonstrate the safety and practicality of the technology at a time when it was not yet widely accepted.

    Following the devastating South Platte River floods—the most destructive flood in Colorado history—Bell assisted with restoration efforts, reinforcing its commitment to the community during times of need.

    Larry Bell served as President of the Colorado Association of Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors, continuing the family tradition of leadership within the industry.

    Bell’s longtime office at 4201 E. Evans Avenue was acquired through eminent domain as part of the T-REX light rail project, alongside more than 200 surrounding properties.

    A New Home for the Future

    Bell relocated to a 43,000-square-foot facility in Aurora, a former lumber yard that provided space for installation materials, fleet operations, and a retail showroom.
