In the summer, the blades should run in a counterclockwise direction to push a column of cool air straight down into the room. Use a medium or high speed to maximize the cooling breeze.
In the Winter, the blades should run in a clockwise direction to push warm air that has risen back down into the living space. Use a low speed to circulate the heat without creating a draft.

What to Expect During Installation
Ceiling fan installations can be completed in 1-2 hours with the help of a licensed electrician. Having accessible attic space above the installation site will make the process even easier, but we can still successfully complete the project without it.
Before we begin the installation, we will need to shut off your circuit breaker. After that, we will remove the wires attached to your old fan or light fixture. There are three wires that need to be addressed: the feed wire, which is connected to the light switch; the neutral wire; and the ground wire. Once these wires are removed, we can access the electrical box.
The electrical box will likely require additional reinforcements to accommodate the added weight and movement of the new ceiling fan (this is often the case when replacing light fixtures with a ceiling fan). In order to safely mount and support the fan, we will either use joist hangers or secure a larger fan box to the joist.
Once all wiring and electrical issues are addressed, we will proceed with connecting the fan motor. Need help with the fan blades? We are happy to help you assemble those as well.
