It can be quite tempting to set your thermostat below 75 during the summer, especially on very hot days. However, the greater the difference in desired temperature between your home and the outside environment, the more effort it’s going to take for the air conditioner to achieve it. It may seem like a pretty big compromise, but it’s a much more energy efficient solution to set your thermostat to 78 during the day. Your home will still probably be much cooler than it is outside, and you’ll save some money in the process.
